Love Them Ink Drawings.

What makes me happy? Life drawing and Ink.

Soo when we put these two loves together it makes for a super fun class. I really didn't want to go to class today because I have so much work to do and I feel so behind that I felt like I should take that time to catch up. But instead I decided to suck it up and go to class and it was worth it. 

I was so happy to have a class where we weren't working on are book project (will post about later), that just ugh. So yeah. Heres some of my favourites from todays life drawing class.

Those were 1-2 min poses I believe? I can't remember now but they are nice and loose and I love them. Then we went on to a couple 20-30 min poses.

Sigh. I'm really happy with the last one. The last one was honestly trying to cover up a drawing of the same pose that went wrong fast.

The King and the Lionheart-Concept.

So today I present to you a small project that I am slowly developing. It's my way of showing my love for the game Fire Emblem: Awakening, and it is my way of showing my love for Of Monsters and Men and their beautiful song "King and Lionheart". It's a little book I'm drawing using the words and the feelings I get from the song, as well as adapting the song and its meaning to my otp in the game (which is Chrom/Robin). 

So these are little thumbnails that I made in my sketchbook, and they are probably all like five minute (possibly longer) rough gestures of what I am planning for the pages to look like. I have most of the lyrics drawn up in quick little sketches but I'm contemplating still what I want the chorus pages to look like. I have an idea of what I might do but I'm not sure how I want to draw it out. Ugh.

The idea of this is that it is almost like an epilogue to the game and it will show critical events within the game that lead towards the ending that happens within the game (not going to spoil anything!). I figured I might put those types of events in the chorus of the song as the rest of the song is more focused on the now and what happened after. 

The lyrics for each page will be displayed under the picture (just so no one gets confused or anything).  

Taking over this town they should worry,

But these problems aside I think I taught you well,

Looking down on these bright blue city lights,

(A/N: I'm thinking about maybe putting a pegusus knight like Cordelia maybe in one of the scenes and have her waving down to Chrom/Robin)

(A/N: thinking about changing this page entirely. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about it and how it flows with the rest of it)

And that's all I have so far. I have the rest of it kind of figured out in my head but I just need to out it onto paper. I was going to use this for a book assignment for class but the idea got scrapped because my teacher wanted a book without a narrative or anything like that. 

But because I am really committed to this idea, I decided that I will be doing it on my own time so I don't know how long it will take me to complete this. I'm hoping that I will have time to work on it slowly within the next couple of months and then really invest some time into over the christmas holidays.

I will try to keep the blog up to date with any progress I have done (if I get time to haha)

Off to tip some scales and kick butt in Smash Bros (I got the 3ds verison of Smash Bros yesterday and it is so good!!)

Throw Back Thursday-Space Cat.

It's Thursday! Happy Thursday everyone! 

Just getting back from a drawing class and I'm exhausted. Blah. 

So getting onto our the throwback! Today we have ourselves on of my favourite paintings that I did throughout my last year in VCA. I have posted this somewhere before (most likely on my tumblr) but I have yet to talk about it or post it here. 

This beauty is my space cat. For the assignment that I made him for, we had to bring in an object to class for someone else to use to appropriate a piece of it to use in a painting. So when we went to grab someone else's object to appropriate, I grab some guys shirt with a lizard on it that looks pretty much like the lizard above with some funky shapes. So just going off of a lizard and some funky shapes, I didn't know where to go with that. 

I was so lost and I was getting frustrated so I decided to look at photos of cats on google (pretty normal right?). So as I was scrolling through photos of cats I eventually found a glorious photo of a cat in space. So with that in mind I was like "THIS IS IT" and I used it as my muse.

And there you have it. There wasn't really much though to it afterwards but everything just kind of fell into place and it was glorious. I remember when I was posting progress pictures on facebook everyone was like "are you on drugs or something?" and it's like pfffft no. But that was a lie haha. 

What kind of drug was I on you might ask? It was Art. Art is one hell of a drug (sorry not sorry). 

I also remember someone in my class too wanting to buy my painting off of me but I refuse to part with it. It's my baby and I refuse to let it go. 

I am really contemplating though making another one to go with it maybe sometime in the future or eventually reworking it a bit more and updating it. But I don't know. Too busy right now to do anything about it so whatever.
